Winter In Florida

Here's the front - the road side - of your Tarpon Springs rental. When driving into the park, watch out for the egrets that sometimes walk along the road. Your neighbors are friendly and would love to say hello. But if you want to keep to yourself, that's okay too.

Here's the water side and your patio. Herons and egrets will walk upon your patio looking for handouts. It's best, if you want to feed them, to do so by the seawall. Raw fish is their diet so they love to see fishermen cast their lines into the water.

Here's the western view from your patio. Sunsets are lovely here, so be sure to come home early, make a cocktail in the blender and relax beside the river. Sit in a cushioned patio chair at the patio table and listen to the birds settling down for the night.

I call him "Harry the Heron." A dignified and intelligent fellow, he and his mate have carved out this area as their territory. You'll see Harry, beautiful great egrets and snowy egrets every day from your patio.

Here's a view of your kitchen. Crank open the windows, put the water on to boil, grind your coffee beans. Feel the morning breeze as you make fresh brewed coffee and juice your own oranges. Then taste it all as you greet the day. It's marvelous.

Al fresco breakfast, lunch or dinner by the river is a real treat. You have a complete kitchen with beautiful china, a coffee press, waffle iron, double boiler, mixer, blender & everything you need so you can prepare virtually anything.

The queen-sized firm mattress and feather pillows will give you a wonderful night's sleep. Closet space is ample and will allow you to settle in for a relaxing stay.

Lovely framed prints really make this room special. The dresser and sidetable drawers are for you to use. The large mirror here - along with the one across from the piano and the large mirror in the bathroom - will assure you look your best should you decide to go dancing in Tampa Bay's exciting hot spot, Ybor City.

Here's the view from your bedroom, through the livingroom, to the sliding glass patio door. A pocket door gives you privacy.

Here's your living room, complete with a sofa bed and cable television. You can't see the baby grand piano to the far right, but it's there, tuned and available for people who can play or want to learn. If you're going to be in Tarpon Springs for a month or two, consider taking lessons. What better time to do it?

Last but not least, here's a view of the bathroom. You can take a bath, although the tub is smaller than standard size. The shower, however, is strong and a full-sized water heater provides lots of hot water. Fully stocked with bath and hand towels, washcloths and a hairdryer.
